Typical 'green' logo of companies masquerading as 'do gooders'

U-North reminds me of Monsanto.  They even have one of those cute green type logos with a seed coming out of the name.   Their advert is all about  feeding the planet.

In reality, U-North manufacture a weed killer that has caused 400 plus deaths.  There is a class action.  Arthur Dent has spent 6 years working on the case for U-North.  He discovers a memo from a U-North scientist stating that their weed killer is indeed deadly.

Here is his memorable speech made to Michael Clayton, a colleague played by George Clooney.

Arthur Dent was a high powered whistle blower who could no longer resist the call to truth.  He took the leap into his heroic journey and was murdered for his beliefs.  Michael Clayton takes up the cause and … well you must watch the film.  It is powerful medicine.

There are many people who are in similar real-life positions and who daily face the decision – to continue for selfish reasons, the mortgage, the lifestyle or to do the right thing and walk away even at great personal cost.  Not an easy decision.   If you know anyone who is in this kind of position, please suggest they watch the film Michael Clayton.  Here is the speech.

This is not an episode, a relapse fuck up.   This is not just madness.

Two weeks ago I came out of the building. I’m running across 6^th avenue/there is a car waiting/ I’ve got exactly 38 mins to get to the airport/I’m dictating/There is this panicked associate running beside me.

We’re standing in the middle of the streett when the lights change and suddenly there’s a wall of traffic – serious traffic  – speeding towards us and I freeze  – I can’t move.

I’m suddenly consumed with the overwhelming sensation I’m covered with some kind of filth.  Its in my hair my face. It’s like a glaze, a kind of coating.

AT first I thought this is some kind of amniotic embryonic fluid – I’m drenched in afterbirth, breached the chrysalis  – been reborn.

No No Reset. Some kind of giddy illusion that happens in the final moment before death and then I realize

No! This is wrong.

I look back at the building and I had the most stunning moment of clarity, I realized, that I had emerged, NOT through the doors of Kenner Bach and Dean  – not through the portals of our fast and powerful law firm

BUT

…from the asshole of an organism whose sole function is to excrete the poison the ammo, the defoliant necessary for other larger more powerful organisms to destroy the miracle of humanity.

And that I had been coated in this patina of shit for the best part of my life and the stench of it and the stain of it would in all likelihood take the rest of my life to undo.

Most of us are coated in some kind of shit, we kowtow to the Powers That Be. At the worst we collude and at best, most of us just keep quiet.

In these tough times it is vital that we open our mouths and shout out about what is wrong.

HELP BLOW THE WHISTLE ON MONSANTO

Join the Facebook Group ‘Millions Against Monsanto’ and pass on the information to everyone you know. Monsanto is a chemical manufacturer who produced Agent Orange, that deforested most of North Vietnam and killed or maimed many people including American soldiers.   They bought Searle, Donald Rumsfeld was the CEO, and along with it Aspartame [which they have now sold] and they invented their own deadly weed killer DDT.

Now they are trying to take over the world with GMO seeds and destroying farmers whose fields accidentally get pollinated by their seeds.  If a farmer who doesn’t use Monsanto seeds has seeds pollinated by Monsanto he has to pay a fine, for something he has no control over.

A number of former Monsanto executives have worked or now work in the key US regulatory departments, the FDA and the USDA.   Justice Clarence Thomas, was the Supreme Court Justice who ruled that Monsanto could patent genes.  He was a former attorney for Monsanto’s lawyers.    He’s no Arthur Dent.   There are many more..
