Aquaponics

Aquaponics is part of the whole Food Forest Garden concept.

Aquaponics is a simple natural system that mimics nature by growing plants and fish together.  In keeping with the concept of ‘symbiosis’ [different species working together to serve each other and the greater system].  Fish swim in the tank, their excreta is a natural fertilizer for plants and the plants in turn provide food and oxygenation for the fish’s water.

A friend of ours Doc Epstein has created his own farm in a box range, using fish and plants.  These farms were developed in his back garden in Atlanta.  He offers a range of farms-in-a-box from tiny one person urban units to larger outdoor back garden systems.  Click the image below to see a video on aquaponics urban style and more info on how to grow fish and food together for your nutritional wellness and taste delight!

Here’s a really cool video from a guy in Australia who’s made aquaponics simple.  We can all begin to grow our own food and there are many ways.

Your Sepp Holzers Permaculture DVD says $45 by the photo, but $50 at Your Location USA. Can you correct that?

Also, how much is the Aquaponics Made Easy DVD above, it was not in your store?

I am living in central Brazil, and my wife is coming in a month from Arizona, so I would like her to bring some DVDs. Any others you recommend? Thanks. Nice website!

I do accept as true with all of the ideas you have presented to your post. They’re really convincing and can certainly work. Still, the posts are very quick for novices. May just you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.

Wow Chi, I just saw this. I try to keep my posts short, but most of them are quite long. I will be happy to post longer stuff, it’s just that in this blip-vert age, people’s attention span is very short. Yours is obviously longer!! Good on you. This one on aquaponics was just put there to get people to go off and google more info.
