Our Food Forest projects
Our dream is to see food forests springing up in local community, created through joint effort of landowners, gardeners and tenders, to provide abundant healthy basic food for everyone. We have a few projects cooking. They range from very grand to small scale and our own kitchen/greenhouse garden projects.
The biggest food forest garden in Georgia
We are holding the space for the conversion of a piece of land that has been logged and left, into an abundant food forest. The land is an eyesore right now, but it has all the qualities needed to create not just a huge and abundant forest garden that will feed many people, but also an education centre to promote the art of forest gardening.
A gift of land to plant
On 30th December, one of the local elders offered to turn over an acre of land for our project and he’s going to consult with his family about the area we mentioned above. This was one of the most amazing encounters that came out of us getting the news that our rented house is being sold. As seeming ‘disaster’ strikes ‘opportunity’ emerges..
We may be living rough, in our RV’s but we have made the first tracks to secure some land. No one believed us when we said ‘somene will make land available to us’. We are proving that there are out of the box solutions if we have enough faith…
We are still stunned. And we are amazed and we are thinking this is a fitting end to a year that we have spent scouting out the area, getting to know the people who can make things happen and living in harmony with the local culture..
Meadow to Food Forest
We’re also working with a local ‘elder’ to help convert his meadow into a flourshing forest garden with accompanying vegetable gardens and a fish farm [we hope he's gonna go for the aquaponic idea]. He is doing this for fun, with a friend so that they can grow fish, populate the local creeks and, in his words, ‘people can catch fish and eat ‘em’.
Here’s a picture of how it is and Forest designed a graphic dreamboard for the forest food garden we envision.

Our dreamboard for creating a food forest garden from a meadow
We need help to complete this project – Summer in the Northern Georgia Hill Country
We trust in G-d and the Universe to provide what we need. And we put out the energy that people will come to help in this project because it’s the ‘right thing to do’ and it’s a helluva lot of FUN.
In the summer we will be scouting for people to come help… we don’t know where this land will be, other than it’s on the elder’s property, and we are now holding the space for him to allow us to bring in crews to help make this happen. We will also be working on the ‘meadow to forest garden’ in the spring.
In the summer the project will attract just the right people to form fluid self-organizing, symbiotic crew to set up camp, help dig the land, build water catchment areas, consult, construct shelters, plant trees, herbs and berries, plus a kitchen and later people to tend the forest…
There may be opportunities to homestead. We are working on it… holding the space… envisioning it… loving it…
How about you? Please share your ideas and projects, dreams and hopes in the ‘Comment’ area below. We’ll try to reply to every comment…

I have 20 acres in Johnston Co, Oklahoma, that I would love to share with some other like-minded people. My excuse right now is I do not know how to find the people???
There is already water and electric, that I put in last spring, when I got the land. I live in an RV as I tear down defunct buildings, clear off trash from last inhabitants, and make paths into the woods.
I desire to locate others who would like to work with me on this plan on a barter system. I will provide land, rent free, in exchange for improvements, working from the outline I have in place.
If anyone knows of anyone interested, email me.
This site rocks! I just located it this morning and am rolling through it, as internet connection permits…
Thanks!!
I have 37 acres of woodland I am trying to utilize and create into an organic farm / food forest / teaching facility. Water and electricity are already in place and a 1 acre field was cleared for row crops. Trails are cut thru many parts of the woods and several fruit trees and vines and more are already on the property.
Looking for like minded people who are interested in this sort of thing who would be willing to help.
Where are you Mike? It seems like a really nice area. I have the will and designs…

Would love to come out and help…give me a shout…I’m not sure where you are locating. ~Doc
Mike, I’d really like to know where you are and how it’s going. Are you on facebook? Maybe we can connect there and I can put it out to more people. It is not often we get people who realize the value of sharing their land, inviting others to participate. Many blessings.. sunny x
