I have been inspired today and I have decided to blend my coaching skills and permaculture knowledge to offer FREE coaching to those who cannot afford it. I am a great motivator and an ideas generator. I feel as if God has shown me what I can offer to the world. This page will be changing in the next week but meanwhile you can read a little of my life story. If you are a coach and have eco skills of any kind, please contact me. The Hero’s Journey – How Life Works
You have heard what Joseph Campbell calls ‘the call to adventure’. Campbell realized through his study of mythology that all cultures across time until now have gone about the writing down of how life works through stories and mythological events and entities.
Campbell saw the same thread in every culture and religion that he studied, and he studied them all. He saw the structure of how life works. And he called it The Hero’s Journey.
You are a gifted individual with unique skills, passions and experiences. Deep in the core of you, as in all humans, is what I call a jewel. The jewel is simply a symbolic word for ‘the best of best that you are destined to be’. The formula is there in all humans.
The secret is discovering what YOUR specific formula is and following it. Campbell calls this ‘following your bliss’.
Follow Your Fascinations to Find Your Path
When you look back on your life and consider your feelings now, you have a strong sense of what fascinates you.. Carl Jung who spent so much time analyzing and working with all kind of people, was prompted by his studies to examine what fascinated him.
He realized that as a child he loved to build structures out of stones. So he decided to build a ‘castle’. It was in the process of following this fascination and delight that he began to generate the ideas for his immortal writings on archetypes.
When you do what you love, the abundance will come. I don’t say money because money has become tainted and it is only an energy form that we use to buy happiness through material goods. I don’t disagree with having material goods. I just know that most of us use entertainment, gadgets, clothes, restaurants, and other material goods to buy us what we aren’t getting in fulfilment through our work.
True abundance is waking up each day fired to get to it. True abundance is the amazing feeling of being you, defining your path, following what works for you. Like this you WILL have all that you need and you will discover in the process that you need less and less stuff because you already have that for which stuff is a substitute.
My personal experience of finding my purpose
I know this feeling. I have personally experienced trying to fit into the system, trying to squeeze my unique talents and gifts and passions into some box that the system offers. It didn’t work. I was unhappy and angry and envious and unfulfilled, drifting from one crazy thing to another in my, then unbeknownst to me, quest to find my passion and bliss.
When my mentor, Joseph Riggio, introduced me to Joseph Campbell and many other greats as part of the processes he put me through, I had a big ‘aha’. The ‘aha’ came from realizing why I had been the way I was. With this out of the way, I was free to follow my own path.
Don’t mistake me, I didn’t have an instant epiphany and then find the work I love. It was a progressive, evolutionary purpose. I had a guide to help me and take me to the edge… In 1997 I left a job in local government to go freelance as a software trainer.
I realize now the pattern of what I’d been doing. The job gave me an opportunity to run training courses and inspire people, even if it was to get them into using Word or Excel.. inspired they were. I also had access to the internet, as part of the IT team and I used it voraciously to connect with others like me.
When you open out the treasures are drawn to you
As a result of the connections I made, not through deliberate ‘what’s in it for me’ networking, but through a passion and desire to know more about the fields of study I was getting into, I was offered a freelance job training salespeople at one of Europe’s most prestigious auto companies. I also opened a magazine a week after taking that leap and saw a job that I knew was for me, at that time. For two years I worked as a video presenter for Softvision, one of the leading software training video makers of that time.
A different sense of Success
All of this, looking back now, and what followed has been part of my own journey of self discovery. I spent a lot of my salary on workshops and seminars and mentoring, I wanted to teach this stuff. I started a series of workshops on attraction and confidence building and they were a roaring success in worldly terms. I love doing workshops and interacting with people and doing it in a fun environment with lots of experiential learning.
I had 4 self-help books published by major publisher. I was charging $250 for a single 1.5 hour session and people were paying me. I appeared on so many TV shows and radio programs that I’ve lost count. I was getting gigs from PR companies to write booklets, quizzes and quotes for product campaigns.
In short I was a a sucess in the system. And for a time it was wonderful. And then a sort of depression set in around the time internet marketing started to take hold. I just wasn’t able to spend my time on google adwords, marketing letters, list building and all that which had come to me naturally through PR and my ability to service and engage the media so well.
The value of ‘doing nothing’
I found myself doing nothing… and although feeling bad at times, I realize now that it was an enforced ‘fallow time’ to nurture and enrich my psyche for new seeds to grow.
I made several attempts to work with partners, starting websites to spread positive gossip and working with someone to set up a social networking/relationship/dating site. All of these failed. And for a good reason.
They were part of my experience of finding out what I really wanted to do with my life. The depression which didn’t lay me up altogether zapped any motivation to do anything to ‘grow my business’. I had a successful reputation great testimonials and I just couldn’t get up the energy to do it.
This may make sense to you if you’re doing a job where some of your skills are used, yet you still feel a sense of dissatisfaction or incompleteness.
Same Skills – Different Container
I was on the right track in some respects, I just had to find a more meaningful route and container for what I loved doing.
Through my studies with my mentor, I kept getting this sense of needing and wanting to be more earthed. I loved nature, and being in it and when I was close to the earth I felt at peace…
And as a result of this I found myself saying frequently ‘I want to go into the woods and write’. That was a first signpost. And here I am now writing this surrounded by snow covered trees in the middle of forested land. But that was not all. Through taking the leap, marrying my husband and coming to a new country, I set myself up to experience a very powerful transformation which is still ongoing..
On the right path
And now, as I write this, I am also about to embark on a permaculture design course. I have found my true passion and it is a culmination of that which was apparent in me and that which was hidden waiting to be ‘unearthed’ literally!
You too have passions and fascinations and when you learn to follow them and take the leap into the adventure of your life, you will be fulfilled.
Warning!
To take this leap and answer the call to adventure is not easy. Many challenges arise along the path, some of which test you to the limit. But you will truly know you are on track when you find yourself so empowered by your ‘mission’ that nothing stops you..
Worth every minute
You have a sense that all this is smoke and that behind the dark clouds your sun is still shining. You become powerful and flowing. You find yourself grounded in the very roots of who you are whilst being fired up to act and plucking from the atmosphere ideas and out of the box thinking that comes direclty from the pure stream of YOU energy.
You are able to flow without asking where it is going, only knowing that it feels right. You don’t plan out a step by step journey, instead you see milestones and event horizons.. and when each one is passed new information and directions come to you.
I had a guide to help me and I am in turn a guide to others, as you are or will be as you begin to follow what is splendidly right for YOU and you alone.

I will be revising this week commencing June 7. For now know that I will be offering FREE coaching via telephone or skype to anyone who cannot afford it.. The focus of the coaching is about how to turn your world around, escape the monetary system little by little, and how to adapt to become more ‘brown’, grow food, turn what you have to the good.

I am offering it not for money, but for stuff or services that I need. This arrangement will be worked out between us. It may be that you have services you can offer me or you have the ability to purchase certain items for me online and have them sent to me. And if you choose to donate something to Feed the Future, you can do that as an alternative to offering services.
And there will be a monetary value suggested so that if you need to, you can work out how much time or which goods you are willing to offer in return for an hour of my time. If it is easy for you to do one thing and that works for both of us, then that’s how we’ll do it.

Personal Experience – the greatest qualification
I have been there, done it and got plenty of t-shirts and I’ve taken many off-track turns and it has all led in a roundabout way to this. What I can do for you is help you take a more direct and focused route and keep you ON TRACK when you begin to wander.
I have learned that when I am on the path of my bliss, opportunities, connections and information come to me much more easily.
And when I forget and allow the dark thoughts to surround me, I attract all the yukky stuff. We all actively have to learn how to focus on what works and what’s possible and we will discover that anything truly is possible. My gift is one of inspiration and vision and through that I will help you find your own personal inspiration and unique vision.
That jewel is waiting deep inside you, waiting for you to peel back the layers that are covering and limiting it so that it can shine out into the world.
The Power of the Beyond Self Approach
And none of this will work until you learn to have a focus that goes beyond self. If you are to contribute your unique gift to the world, you must feel this sense of connection to that which is greater than you.. and when you oscillate between the sense of you at your best and being part of the world, your true and perfect INTENT will reveal itself to you. You will know in the core of your being and recognize the physical markers of being totally ON TRACK and doing absolutely the right thing for YOU.

I have undergone a lot of rigorous training and mentoring over the last 15 years.
